There has been no planting of crops in Chaguaramas for the past few years, yet people are coming forward seeking to make claims for compensation, says chief executive officer of the Chaguaramas Development Authority (CDA) Joclyn Hargreaves.
Over the weekend there were reports that crops were being bulldozed in Chaguaramas, which provoked the Movement for Social Justice (MSJ) to condemn the act.
However, Hargreaves said no such thing happened and false information was being perpetuated for self-gain.
Hargreaves told the Express yesterday the CDA plans to rehabilitate Guave Road and convert it into another main road because of the increased traffic to Chaguaramas.
